Coronavirus Update (14/03/2020)

Saturday 14th March 2020 Published by Leave your thoughts

For the past two weeks we’ve been monitoring the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) across the UK, since its outbreak from China some months ago.

On Monday night the Party in the Park Management Committee met to discuss the issue with regards to this year’s festival (Saturday 13th June).

As many people will know, it takes several months to organise an event the size of Party in the Park – with huge amounts of planning and preparation.

At this stage, after taking advice from Public Health England and Bath & North East Somerset Council, we believe it would be too premature to cancel the festival.

The event, which attracts 2,200 – 2,500 people each Summer, is some 3 months away. Therefore, we’ve decided to delay any decision to cancel Party in the Park and will continue to review plans as the weeks progress.

At the time of issuing this statement, it’s anticipated that the Government is to ban large scale gatherings, but the period of the ban is yet unknown and could be lifted by June 13th.

We’re hoping, as in previous years, that we can put on another fantastic summer festival for you!

Yours,

Peasedown Party in the Park Festival Team
