Wednesday 27th April 2022 Leave your thoughtsAn organisation that helped support thousands of people throughout the Covid pandemic has been announced as one of the Official Partners for this year’s Jubilee Party in the Park festival in Peasedown St John.
B&NES 3SG, the voice of the voluntary sector in the local area, supports charities, community groups and social enterprises in Bath, Keynsham, Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Peasedown St John and rural areas such as the Chew Valley.
Nathan Hartley, Chairman of Peasedown Party in the Park said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be having the B&NES 3SG Team with us at this year’s Jubilee festival!
“During the first six months of the pandemic, the team received almost 9,000 phone calls from residents who needed help, with almost 400 emergency food parcels being delivered to homes across Bath and North East Somerset.
“As founders of the new Compassionate Community Hub, they’ve done a fantastic job of bringing thousands of volunteers together to support others.“
3SG is a membership network of over 170 charities, social enterprises and community groups in B&NES. Members in Peasedown St John include Peasedown Community Trust, Camerton & Peasedown Croquet Club and The Hive Community Centre.
At Jubilee Party in the Park, B&NES 3SG will be providing a large team of volunteers to staff all the entry gates to the festival, hand out programmes and greet the public as they arrive.
Miles Lloyd, Volunteer Coordinator for 3SG, said:
“We’re looking forward to being a part of Peasedown Jubilee Party in the Park in June. The festival has grown so much over the last decade to become one of the key events in the local calendar.
“As an organisation that likes to champion and support the voluntary sector, we’re pleased to be working with Nathan and the team to help organise and manage this historic community event.
“The Covid pandemic has been a challenging time for us all. It’s encouraged us to think about how much we appreciate our friends and family, and how much we value our local community.”
Jubilee Party in the Park, as part of the national four-day bank holiday to mark HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, officially starts at 12noon on Friday 3rd June on Beacon Field – with festivities running until 7pm.
This year’s sponsors are the St J’s Group, Curo, B&NES Council, Bath College and the Peasedown Community Trust.
The event features 7 hours of live music and entertainment – with Radio Bath and Reaper Events, a Dog Show, The Red Post Beer Tent and a huge range of stalls and attractions.
