Peasedown festival fever heats up with 30% stall hire discount for local charities

Organisers of Peasedown’s popular Party in the Park festival have announced a special 30% discount for local charities who’d like to showcase their work and run a stall at this year’s event.

Now in its 16th year, the village’s community festival is one of the biggest in the district with over 2,500 people attending the one-day extravaganza.

Organised by Peasedown’s local B&NES Councillors, Karen Walker and Gavin Heathcote, festival revellers are expected to enjoy over 7 hours of live music and get the opportunity to visit a vast array of stall holders and attractions.

Cllr Karen Walker (Independent) is the festival’s Bookings Manager and one of its founders. She said:

“The charity sector has been hit particularly hard over the last couple of years with rising costs and budget cuts – despite the invaluable services many of them provide.

To show our support and appreciation for the hundreds of fantastic local charities in B&NES we’re offering all registered charities a discount of almost 30% if they’d like to book a stall at this year’s festival.”

Instead of the usual £35 fee for a regular 2m x 2m stall space, any local charity that books can do so for just £25.

This year’s Peasedown Party in the Park festival will be held on Saturday 14th June from 11.30am – 7pm on Beacon Field.

More details will follow in the coming months, but plans already include live music and entertainment, the Peasedown St John Community Civic Award, Peasedown’s sixth annual Dog Show, and much, much more!

Fellow Peasedown councillor and festival organiser Cllr Gavin Heathcote (Independent) added: “We’ve been overwhelmed with positive feedback following last year’s festival. All those that came really enjoyed themselves and said they looked forward to the festival every year.

I’d encourage anyone who wants to run a stall to get in touch. Bookings officially opened in January and we’re already receiving a lot of interest.

One of our key aims every year is to build community spirit and bring people together. Party in the Park is now the most important event in the local calendar.”

Any local charities who’d like to run a stall can contact Cllr Karen Walker by:

• Emailing: karenwalker3434@gmail.com

• Writing to Party in the Park Bookings, 18Wellow Mead, Peasedown St John, Bath, BA2 8SB.

All charities would need to quote their Registered Charity Number to secure their 30% discount.
